Explore the Majestic Pantanal Wetlands
The Pantanal Wetlands, the world's largest expanse of flooded plains, span over 140,000 km². This biodiverse haven is home to countless bird species, endemic plants, alligators, mammals, marine life, and the elusive jaguars. Embarking on this journey offers a unique opportunity to step in the footsteps of these mystical creatures while enjoying an array of wildlife encounters and tropical flora.
Traveling mainly by boat through the Pantanal enhances our chances of spotting the 'big cat' and ensures minimal impact on this vital yet fragile ecosystem, preserving its beauty for future generations.
Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival at Cuiabá - Transpantaneira
After arriving at Cuiabá airport, we'll transfer to the Pantanal region via the Transpantaneira Highway. This area boasts the highest wildlife concentration in Latin America. We'll stay in fazendas (typical farms), allowing us to connect with nature directly. Night at the Pousada Rio Claro | Standard Room. Included: driver + guide, shared transport, arrival transfer, full board, local guide, room, and breakfast.
Day 2: Transpantaneira - Porto Jofre
The day starts with an early tour to watch the dawn, followed by a boat excursion on the Claro River in search of birds and other animals. After lunch, we transfer to Porto Jofre, staying at a fazenda in the heart of the Transpantaneira. Night at the Hotel Pantanal Norte (Porto Jofre) | Standard Room. Included: speedboat, shared guide, dinner, full board, lunch, room, and breakfast.
Day 3: Porto Jofre - Searching for the Jaguar
Dedicated to searching for jaguars along the local riverbanks, where the largest cat in the Americas can be seen. You may also spot alligators, giant otters, capybaras, iguanas, jabiru storks, gulls, and other species native to the Pantanal. After a day full of activities, we return to the hotel. Night at the Hotel Pantanal Norte (Porto Jofre) | Standard Room. Included: speedboat, shared guide, dinner, full board, lunch, room, and breakfast.
Day 4: Porto Jofre - Transpantaneira
After breakfast, we embark on another stage of the Jaguar tour. Post-lunch, we transfer to a different fazenda along the Transpantaneira for a fresh experience. Night at Pousada Piuval | Suite Luxo Room. Included: speedboat, shared guide, full board, room and breakfast.
Day 5: Transpantaneira Nature & Wildlife
From sunrise to nighttime, we engage in various activities related to the natural surroundings of the fazenda, focusing on wildlife observation and experiencing the Pantanal region. Night at Pousada Piuval | Suite Luxo Room. Included: speedboat, shared guide, full board, room, and breakfast.
Day 6: Transfer out Cuiabá
In the morning, we transfer to Cuiabá airport for departure. Included: driver (Portuguese speaking), shared transport, departure transfer.
