Itinerary Overview
Day 1: Arrival and Exploration
Pick-up at 8am from your hotel in Manaus. Transfer to Ceasa port, speed boat ride via Rio Negro to Catalão Floating Village, visit to Giant Arapaima Gigas fish farm, journey to the meeting of the waters, transfer to Careiro Village, and arrival at lodge by 11:30am. Lunch followed by dolphin and bird watching, sunset viewing, dinner, and a Cayman spotting adventure. Overnight at the lodge.
Meals: Lunch and dinner based on local food like beef, chicken, fish, rice, beans, vegetables, salad, and spaghetti.
Accommodation: Private rooms at the Juma Floating Lodge with air conditioning, private bathroom, and mosquito nets.
Day 2: Jungle Trek and Piranha Fishing
Early morning canoe trip to watch sunrise. After breakfast, jungle trek discussing medicinal plants, trees, and possible monkey sightings. Post-lunch piranha fishing and bird listening during boat ride. Dinner and a night safari to spot wildlife. Overnight at the lodge.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner based on local cuisine. Accommodation as on Day 1.
Day 3: Local Family Visit and Jungle Camping
Morning visit to a local family’s home to learn about life in the rainforest. Optional river swimming. Afternoon journey to jungle camp, sleeping in hammocks with mosquito nets.
Meals: Traditional regional dishes with fresh fish, chicken, rice, vegetables, and Manioc wheat.
Accommodation: Hammock camping in the jungle.
Day 4: Return to Manaus
Breakfast in the jungle, followed by a hike in a new area. Return to the lodge for swimming and relaxation before lunch. Departure to Manaus, arriving around 4:30pm.
Meals: Breakfast and lunch featuring local ingredients. Final accommodation at the Juma Floating Lodge.
